Microphone Transcription
Transcribe from your microphone
The primary way to use Speakly is transcribing directly from your microphone.
Choosing the input device
Open Settings → General. The Microphone row shows the device in use; click Change to pick another one. The same list is in the tray icon menu under Microphone.
Microphone sensitivity
The gain control is in Settings → System, under Microphone sensitivity — not on the General tab. The slider runs from 0.5x to 3.0x in steps of 0.5 and the current value is shown as a percentage; the default is 2.0x (200%).
The in-app description reads: "Boost microphone volume if your voice is too quiet. Click "Test" to hear how it sounds."
Testing the microphone
The Test button sits next to the sensitivity readout on the same System panel. It records for 3 seconds ("Speak now... (3 seconds)") and plays the recording back with the current gain applied, so you can hear the effect before using it for real.
