System Settings

System settings control how Speakly behaves on your computer:
- Enable Sound Effects: Play sounds when starting and finishing voice recording
- Auto-paste Text: Automatically paste transcribed text into the active application. When disabled, text is only copied to clipboard.
- Enable Assistant: Process highlighted text with voice commands like "translate" or "summarize". When disabled, voice will only transcribe.
- Launch at Login: Start Speakly automatically when you log in to your computer
- Show App in Dock (macOS): Display Speakly icon in the macOS dock. Restart required.
- Keep Audio Recordings: Save audio files locally. When disabled, audio is deleted after transcription.
- Audio Acceleration: Speed up audio 2x before sending to API (smaller files, uses more CPU)
Recording Indicator Style

Choose how the recording indicator appears on your screen:
- Floating Pill: A pill-shaped indicator at the bottom center of the screen
- Dynamic Island: Integrated with the notch (MacBook Pro with notch only)
Hotkey Hold Duration
How long you need to hold the hotkey before recording starts. This prevents accidental activation when using shortcuts like Cmd+Backspace. Default is 0.5 seconds.
Microphone Sensitivity
Boost microphone volume if your voice is too quiet. Use the "Test" button to record 3 seconds and hear how it sounds with your current gain setting.
